This ministry began just over 4 years ago to meet needs for our members who are over 60 and live alone. We recognized that people who live alone are lonely and long to be with other people who are also alone. We started with 15 people and have grown to an average of 160-190 per month now. There is no cost to the attendees.
We meet on the 1st Tuesday evening of the month (with the exception of June, July and August, at 5:00 p.m. in our NOW Center. We provide a home-cooked meal and provide time for fellowship with others around the table. We also provide entertainment each month. A reservation is necessary for the meal. Please call 682-0163 x 807 and leave a message with your name and phone number. We ask each person to bring a can of food for our Compassion House ministry that provides food and clothing to about 900 families each month.
We encourage each other in our spiritual walks. Our ministry verse is Psalm 16:9. My heart is glad and my flesh also shall rest in hope.
Hope for the Heart also provides a Bible Study on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. After a sandwich lunch, we study a book of the Bible, verse by verse. The Bible Study is led by Pastor Gene Wells.
