preschool: preschool schedule: preschool connect
Preschool ConnectEach Sunday, during our Bible Study hour, our “little ones” spiritual foundation is laid by committed volunteers who have a passion to teach them basic biblical truths. We systematically teach our “little ones” foundational truths that will help them make choices as they get older.
Biblical Foundations for Teaching Preschoolers
Our curriculum covers eight specific areas of study. In each area, the preschooler learns Bible truths according to his/her ability to understand. The topics are as follows:
| God |
God loves you |
| Jesus is God's Son |
Jesus loves you |
| Bible |
The bible is a special book about God and Jesus |
| Church |
There are people who love us and take care of our needs at church. |
| Self |
Each child feels that self and others are important |
| Others |
People love children and take care of their needs |
| Family |
each child learns to accept members of his/her family |
What you can do to encourage your child’s spiritual development:
- Be consistent in attendance
- Reinforce at home the lesson your child is taught at church
- Talk to your child about God and Jesus during daily activities
- Talk about the things God made
- Pray with your child
- Read Christian books to your child
Biblical truths are interwoven in the following activities:
Art
Art stimulates and develops the imagination and fosters self-confidence. The value of art activities for the young child lies in the process rather than the product.
Puzzles
Age-appropriate puzzles offer a challenge to a child. They help him learn to solve problems.
Nature
Providing nature activities can open a world of excitement and wonder for a child. He/She begins to understand that God made all things.
Music
Songs about God, Jesus, church, self, others and the natural world help preschoolers form concepts related to Bible truths.
Home living
In home living, children have an opportunity to act out the roles of parents and other people in the child’s world and develop social skills.
