First impressions team 

+ Doorway Greeters

Welcomes people to church on Sunday morning, assists them in finding Connect Group classes or a Worship Service. Is a visible presence from the parking lot, greets everyone, opens doors, and assists people with special needs.

+ Information Center and Guest Services

Greets guests and members at the Information and/or Guest Services counter, hands out information, answers questions, and provides direction to a Connect Group, Worship Service or other activities. .

+ ushers

Mans the major entrances to our Worship Center. Is a visible presence inside the Worship Center, greets everyone, opens doors, helps people with obvious needs, helps people find a seat, controls access to the worship center, collects the tithes and offerings, counts attendance when assigned a location, and assists at special events when needed.

+ Shuttle Driver

Safely, courteously, and efficiently drive the shuttle from the parking lots to the facilities on Sundays and special events. Must have a valid driver’s license.

+ Parking Usher

Safely, courteously and efficiently direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic to and from parking areas. Assist older adults and the handicapped to special parking spaces. Place traffic cones, special parking signs, walkway barriers, etc. each Sunday and for special events.

PRESCHOOL MINISTRY

+ Guest Registration

Greet and assist first time and repeat guests in registering children, assigning classrooms, and providing information about the preschool ministry.

+ Guest Guides

Accompany guests and their children to assigned classrooms and connect them with appropriate teacher or helper..

+ Teachers (2-5 year olds) 9:30am Sunday

Arrive 20 minutes before service times to lead a small group of preschoolers in Bible lessons and activities which are planned and prepared for teachers.

+ Nursery Helpers

Help with childcare and play in the nursery rooms. 0 – 2 yrs. 9:30 and/or 11:00.

+ Teacher Helpers (2-5 year olds) 9:30am Sunday

Arrive by 9:20 and help weekly teachers with childcare and crafts in small groups.

+ Preschool Helpers at 11:00am Sunday

Arrive by 9:45 and help with childcare, crafts, and worship in 11:00 large group. 2 year-olds, 3-4 year-olds, or 5 year-olds

+ AWANA Teachers

Use provided and pre-prepared curriculum and materials to prepare soil and plant seeds of spiritual understanding in the hearts of minds of preschoolers.

+ VBS Teachers (2-4 year olds)

Help with VBS teaching, games, crafts, or worship in Lakeland and/or Auburndale for one week in the summer.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

+ Small Group Leader

Group facilitator for 8-12 children grades 1-5. Using preparation from a standardized curriculum, execute lessons of application driving home the "big idea" for the week.

+ Substitute Group Leader

Be willing to step in at a moment’s notice and direct the activities of a small group of kids grades 1-5.

+ Curriculum Coordinator

Facilitate the organization of monthly curriculum for Small Group Leaders.

+ Storyteller

Provide engaging lesson from a scripted curriculum for kids in large group; grades 1-5 should be comfortable in front of groups and be able to hold the attention of the group by using a variety of techniques.

+ Large Group Hose

Provide engaging introduction for master teacher / storyteller using a variety of techniques usually comic in nature.

+ JAM - Crowd Control

Provide steadying influence for kids in children's church.

+ JAM Worship Leader

Using talents in music, provide engaging worship experience for parents and/or children in a variety of environments. Often requires singing along with instrumental tracks.

+ JAM Media/Tech

Working closely with ministry leadership to provide a directed and engaging experience for children and/or parents using state of the art equipment and software.

+ JAM Actors

Persons with experience in the performing arts can use their gifts and talents to bring to life established characters that are used for relevant life examples.

+ AWANA Small Group Leader (September - May)

Work closely with children grades k-5 in established program geared to committing scripture to memory.

+ AWANA Game Directors

Create fun and engaging game environment which promotes sportsmanship and activity within the confines of the AWANA program.

+ AWANA Record Keeping

Work with AWANA leadership to maintain accurate records of clubber achievements. This position often serves as a group leader as well.

+ AWANA Leadership Commander

Effective leader of the AWANA ministry. This position will work closely with the Children’s Ministry team to create a fun and meaningful experience each Wednesday night. This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic hand of organization and creativity with an emphasis on discipleship and missions for approximately 250 children and leaders.

+ AWANA Leadership Director

Director of Sparks or T and T clubs in the AWANA ministry. This position will work closely with the Children’s Ministry team and the AWANA Commander to create a fun and meaningful experience each Wednesday night. This position requires a strong leader with responsibilities in organization, teaching, leading, and encouragement of approximately 100 children and 20 leaders in each club.

+ AWANA Leadership Creative

Creative help for to drive an engaging experience for kids. This position is instrumental in creating a variety of theme nights and incentive programs to encourage club members in scripture memorization and missions projects.

+ VBS General Use

Provide general guidance in areas of fun and/or food service.

+ VBS Counseling

Provide the necessary guidance for children who have just made salvation decisions

+ VBS Crowd Control

Provide steadying influence in large group environments.

+ WinShape Camp Volunteer

Perform a variety of tasks related to executing the camp schedule daily.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY

+ Sunday Morning Small Group Leader

+ Praise Team

All singers and musicians must follow direction from Worship Leaders, and/or Music Directors, and be prepared, in advance, for team rehearsals and services. Singers—adult with advanced music reading skills. Audition/interview required.

+ Band

Rhythm Players—(Bass, Drums, and Guitar) Intermediate to advanced level. Music reading or Rhythm chart reading is a must. Audition/interview required.

+ Piano/Organ 8:00am

Piano and organ – Intermediate to advanced level. Music reading required. Audition/interview required.

+ Band/Vocal Team

Drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards, piano and vocals. Intermediate to advanced level. Musicians should be able to read basic rhythm/chord charts. Audition/interview required.

MEDIA

+ Media Counter

Sunday morning duplicating of message CD/DVDs and sales.

+ CD/DVD Duplication

Weekly help with duplicating, processing and mailing of media materials.

PROGRAM TECHNOLOGY

+ Lighting Engineer

Design, installation, and maintenance of theatrical lighting systems. Helps setup and tear down stage sets. Needed in multiple locations for different ministries. Training available.

+ Audio Engineer

Operates the sound board. Works with band and worship leaders. Helps setup and tear down stage sets. Needed in multiple locations for different ministries. Training available.

+ Video Production

Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, a production video switcher, non-linear video editing can also be helpful, as well as basic videography and lighting skills. Training can be provided for all positions.

+ Camera Operator

Operates studio camera for Sunday services, as well as the possibility to run camera for various events and activities in other ministries. Training available.

+ Iris Operator

Operates iris/shading control by adjusting brightness of live video feed for Sunday services. Training available.

+ Stage Manager

Commitment to rehearsals and production runs for weekly services and major productions and special events.

+ A/V Equipment Maintenance

Maintenance and inventory of equipment. Ability to identify and sort cables, connectors and basic A/V supplies.

+ Pro Presenter Operator

Set-up, edit, and operate Pro Presenter presentations.

+ Stage Hand

Set-up podium, props, or other needed stage items during service or other events.

+ Tech Deck Hands

Helps in multiple locations—set-up, change, & tear down staging, lighting, sound & musical instruments for services and events.

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY 

+ Baptismal Team

Welcome and assist those being baptized on Sunday mornings or at special events. Roles include helping with check in and paperwork, helping people in and out of the baptistery, providing overall help with traffic flow and a friendly presence as people take this step.

+ Healing Prayer Ministry

Praying with individuals who need emotional, spiritual, marital, relational, or physical healing. In the Chapel following each of the 3 worship services. Contact Brenda Rinier (863) 682-0163.

ADULT CONNECT GROUP MINISTRY

+ Connect Group Director

Responsible for the overall leadership, direction and success of the individual Connect Group God has called him or her to lead. Responsible for the recruitment, training coordination, and functional oversight of all Connect Group leadership and for the overall alignment of the group with all church programs and leadership.

+ Lead Teacher

Responsible for preparing and presenting interactive lessons that focus on the systematic study and practical application of God’s Word. Practical applications to the discipled Christian’s life should be integrated into each lesson. Coordinates curriculum, timing and delivery of the lessons in consultation with the Connect Group Director and in alignment with church leadership. The goal of Connect Group teaching is to equip and encourage Connect Group members to live out the teachings of scripture.

+ Team Teacher

The Team Teacher shares the above teaching responsibilities on a rotating basis under the direction of the Lead Teacher. This can be an apprentice position for developing teachers or simply to share the teaching ministry with other qualified teachers in the Connect Group.

MISSIONS

+ Evangelism Team

Do you believe you have the gift of Evangelism? Be a part of our team that actively shares the Good News of Jesus Christ with others and trains those in our congregation to do the same!

+ Evangelism Training

Receive training from our Evangelism Team on how you can effectively share your testimony and the Gospel with those around you! Whether you’re in the workplace, with your family, or in your community, this training will help you to always be ready to give an answer for the hope in which you have (1 Peter 3:15)!

+ Outreach Events

Participate in community outreach events to share the “good news” of Jesus Christ throughout the year.

+ Mission and Outreach Event Implementation

Assist in the preparation, facilitation, and clean-up of various missional/outreach efforts throughout the year, such as Mission Celebration, Love Your City, and others.

+ Compassion House

A ministry for the needy on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00am to 12 noon. Volunteers spend time welcoming clients, counseling clients, ministering to children, or organizing or distributing food and clothing donations. Drivers needed on Tuesday and Thursday to pick up food.

+ Breaking Bread Café

Breaking Bread Café offers a nutritious hot dinner in a friendly sit-down atmosphere. We strive to serve our guests with kindness, compassion and dignity. Volunteers serve by greeting, dinner preparation, sitting and eating with our guests, delivering food to tables, or set-up/tear-down. Time commitment varies per volunteer position.

+ MIssion Trips

The mission and command to Make Disciples applies to every believer! Mission trip details, dates, cost, destination and requirements vary with every trip. Pick up a Mission Trip brochure at the Information Desk and start praying about where the Lord will have you GO this year!

+ Missions Representative

Volunteers will be a on a rotational team that visits Connect Groups and tends the Mission Booths with information regarding upcoming missional opportunities and outreaches. These volunteers will be prepped to be experts on the information they are asked to share so that they can answer questions!

+ Packing Party Hosts

Each Missions Team has a Packing Party before departure that allows them to review their supplies and evenly distribute these supplies among their luggage. Volunteers would assist in logging the location of different supplies and helping to pack the luggage so that extra-baggage fees are minimal.

+ Missionary and Ministry Prayer Team

We have Missionary and Ministry Partners in our community and around the world that tirelessly give their all to reach those around them with the love and truth of the Gospel. Our Missionary and Ministry Prayer Team will receive updated prayer requests from our partners with specific ways we can go before the throne on their behalf!

+ Coffee Shop

Prepare and serve beverages and snacks in the Coffee Shop.

OTHER

+ Chair-by-Chair Prayer Group

Join the Chair-by-Chair Prayer Group (four different teams—each person serves once every four weeks). Meets Sunday Mornings at 6:30am in the worship center to pray chair-by-chair for each person who will occupy the chairs in the worship center. (Note: There is no requirement to pray aloud) Contact Beth Miller at (863) 682-0163.

+ Circle of Friends Ministry for Children with Special Needs

We provide childcare workers and volunteers who serve as “buddies” or “shadows” on a one-to-one basis for children and students with special needs in Connect Groups, Children’s Worship and AWANA. Contact Beth Miller (863) 682-0163.

+ Security Volunteers

Security volunteers are positioned throughout the church during Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and other special services or events. The responsibilities of security are: to maintain a safe worship environment; observe and report any suspicious behavior to the lead Lakeland Police Dept. officer; in case of emergency call 911; help clear the area; and direct members to their desired location. + Landscape Maintenance Volunteers

Work under the supervision of the yard crew with various yard maintenance tasks at any of our three campuses: Lakeland, South Lakeland, and Auburndale. Contact: Greg Hieronymus, (863) 682-0163.
